The best cookies I ever ate in my entire life, I ate today. Joe returned from Central California, where the family went, (I couldn't go because I had to teach this past Saturday). Joe was thoughtful and brought me back a few goodies. You know someone loves you when they bring you food!
First thing I tried were these cookies from Brown Butter Cookie Co. Oh.....My.......God.......! AMAZING COOKIES. I can't even begin to tell you, brown butter and sea salt! Now they aren't cheap. A bag of 6 cookies is $6., making them $1. each., and they are small. But I have to say, after having two kinds, regular & chocolate, I'd pay $2. a piece for them. I really would.
When ever I taste anything I like, I google it for a recipe. Here's what I found. Now, you can try this recipe, as I'm going to this weekend. If you like them, let me know.
Here are a few other gifts I got since I'm a foodie.
Honey, Sun-dried Tomato & Olive relish, Fig Raisin Chutney, Figs and Black Mission Figs. Guess I'm having figs this weekend! Thanks for the gifts Joe!!!!!
Quick Milo story. Yesterday While I was gone, I came home and Milo had knocked over a trash can and ate a cherry cake and an almost full tub of whipped cream I had tossed out, as well as a freezer burned chicken breast. He was huge and bloated. Needless to say he could barely move, and even though I was mad at him, I had to lightly rub him tummy and assure him he would get better. Silly dog.
THING OF BEAUTY:
My brother Chris' family dog MAX (Yes they stole the name from me) This is not my Max, but I love this Max so much. Puppy Love!
He also has another sweet little dog Princess, and I'll show her to you later.
In the immortal words of Cookie Monster: "UM....COOKIES!"
oh, paul. those brown butter cookies look superlatively divine. as you described them, my pastry chef brain started chewing away, trying to divine the formula, and in the next sentence you gave us a link! thank you! you can guess what's cooking at our place today...cookies are one of the ways kris knows i love her. those chutneys and other goodies look well worth slobbering over, too. such a thoughtful companion. and poor milo - what a good, kind dog daddy he has. the max photo is a complete hoot. i'm visualizing a thought bubble next to his head that reads, "will this picture make my nose look big?" fill my day with smiles!
